Atiku Abubakar, A PDP Presidential candidate, Is Present In Court As The Presidential Election Petition Tribunal Convenes

Alhaji Atiku, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for president in the most recent election, stormed the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal to observe hearings on his petition challenging Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the election's winners.

At around 8:30 am, the former vice president showed up in court to observe statements in his move on notice requesting live media coverage of the court.

Peter Obi, the Labour Party, LP candidate, attended court on Monday and Wednesday to observe proceedings related to his own case.

It was seen that Atiku was escorted to court by PDP leaders, supporters, allies, and business partners.

Security has been stepped up to prevent security breaches in light of Atiku's standing as a former vice president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, our correspondent added.

Although the pre-hearing session for Atiku's appeal was originally scheduled for 2pm, it was learned that it was moved up to today morning.
