TINUBU: A $460,000 U.S COURT ORDER FOR FEITURE AGAINST ME IS NOT ENFORCEABLE BECAUSE IT WAS NEVER RECORDED IN ANY NIGERIAN COURT
On Wednesday, Nigeria's President-elect, Bola Tinubu, told the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal (PEPT) that it had the required jurisdiction to enforce a supposed ruling of a US District court ordering the confiscation of $460,000 in several US bank accounts related to him in 1993.
The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) yesterday supported the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in advocating for the dismissal of the lawsuit brought by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate, Atiku Abubakar, disputing Tinubu's election victory on February 25.
In a preliminary objection to the petition, the party further alleged that the tribunal lacked jurisdiction to hear the petition because it lacked relevant facts or particulars as required by law.
