I-17 AFCON: SOUTH AFRICA HAS NAMED A NIGERIAN STRIKER TO THEIR FINAL 23-MAN ROSTER

Michael Dokunmu

Duncan Crowie, South Africa's U-17 men's head coach, has nominated Nigerian-born attacker Michael Dokunmu to his 23-man squad for the Africa U-17 Cup of Nations in 2023.

Dokunmu, who plays for Dutch club Vitesse Arnhem, was born in Kimberly, South Africa, to Nigerian parents.

The 17-year-old was eligible to play for both Nigeria and South Africa, but chose the latter.

The teenager is set to face the Golden Eaglets in the competition, which also includes Nigeria and South Africa.

On May 6, Nigeria and South Africa will face off at the Hamlaoui Stadium in Constantine.

The other countries in the group are Morocco and Zambia.
