1. Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello has named his preferred successor, but it is not Edward Onoja, a close ally who served as Chief of Staff and became Deputy Governor following the impeachment of Simon Achuba in 2019. Ahmed Usman- Ododo, the state Auditor-General, was named as Bello's favored replacement.
2. The Nigeria Police Force dismissed officers attached to Dauda Adamu Kahutu Rarara, a famous praise singer for the ruling All Progressives Congress. The officers were fired for wasting live ammunition, according to Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the force's spokesman, who announced the decision at Force Headquarters in Abuja.
3. According to Dr. Uche Rowland Ojinmah, President of the Nigerian Medical Association, despite brain drain in the health sector, many qualified doctors in Nigeria are still unemployed. He stated this while discussing the flight of Nigerian medical practitioners to better pastures abroad.
4. In Saturday's supplementary elections, political parties including the All Progressives Congress and the Peoples Democratic Party will compete for 93 legislative seats in federal and state legislatures.

5. The Central Bank of Nigeria has proposed that banks transfer funds in dormant accounts for up to ten years into a trust fund account. 6. Three people were slain and two others were abducted when gunmen suspected of being cultists stormed the Ubeta community in Rivers State's Ahoada West Local Government Area on Wednesday. In what appeared to be retaliation, the gunmen plundered the community.

10. The Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers, NUPENG, has advised the Federal Government not to consider removing the fuel subsidy in the absence of local refining capacity, citing the socioeconomic repercussions for businesses and ordinary Nigerians.
