"Who am I if people criticize Cristiano Ronaldo...?"

Real Madrid defender Antonio Rudiger has expressed surprise at the club's criticism.

The Germany international turned down an extension with Chelsea in 2021 and instead joined Real Madrid as a free agent.

Since joining Los Blancos, the former Blues star has appeared in 43 games for the club in various tournaments.

However, he has failed to establish himself as an undisputed starter for Carlo Ancelotti's team.

The German has also received criticism for his less-than-world-class performances.

In response to the criticism, Rudiger stated that he is no one to be criticized if legends such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema, and Luka Modric face criticism at the club at some point.

"Dealing with pressure at Real Madrid? For me, it's very simple," he told Madrid Xtra.

"Cristiano got criticized here, Benzema got criticized here, Modrić, all of them. Who am I to not get criticized?"
