FIVE PEOPLE ARE KILLED AND SIX ARE INJURED IN A BOAT ACCIDENT IN KANO

On Sunday, five people were killed and six others were injured in a boat accident at Kanwa Dam in Kano State's Madobi Local Government Area.

The Kano State Fire Service's Public Relations Officer, Alhaji Saminu Abdullahi, confirmed the news.

"The incident occurred on April 22, around 05:40 p.m.," said Saminu Abdullahi.

He added that there were 11 people in the boat, and that six were retrieved alive, while five were saved but unconscious.

He identified those killed in the accident as Abdulrazak Nabara, 40; Dalha Muktar-Atamma, 40; Mustapha Ibrahim, 45; Umar Isah, 35; and Umar Idris, 35.

He stated that the fatalities were from Fagge in the state's Fagge Local Government Area.

He stated that investigations into the boat accident had begun and that reports would be made accessible.
