CARRAGHER NAMES THE CHELSEA PLAYER RESPONSIBLE FOR BEN CHILWELL'S RED CARD
Jamie Carragher, a Liverpool star, has criticised Chelsea defender Marc Cucurella for his role in Ben Chilwell's red card against Real Madrid.
Caragher claimed that the Spanish defender misjudged the circumstances that resulted in England's left-back being sent off.
Chelsea were defeated 2-0 in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final at the Santiago Bernabeu, with home goals from Karim Benzema and Marco Asensio.
Rodrygo was on the edge of the box when the Brazilian was clear through, and the referee immediately showed him the red card.
As Carragher criticized Chilwell's defence, he blasted Cucurella for providing no assistance to the England international.
"You can't do everything you'd like to do as a defender (against rapid players)," he said of Chiwell on CBS Sport.
"When the ball goes and Rodrygo spins, Cucurella is still like this stood still.
