AN UNKNOWN GADGET EXPLODES, INJURING ONE IN JIGAWA STATE

Authorities in Jigawa State have verified that an unknown item exploded in Dutse, the state capital, injuring one person.


DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam, Police Public Relations Officer Jigawa Command, confirmed this to reporter.


He said the explosion happened around 7:40 p.m. on Tuesday in a shop on Hakimi Street in Dutse, the state capital.


Shiisu stated that the police are looking into the incident to determine the cause of the explosion and the sort of gadget used.

He did, however, warn residents to exercise extreme caution when visiting busy areas and to report any suspicious activity to the nearest security agency.


Friday has been named as the victim. Frayo informed a reporter that he found the item in a sack along the road and carried it to his shop to figure out what it was.


"I took something in black nylon thinking its something I kept, I later saw a device reading numbers like clock I threw it away immediately".

"After I threw it away, the device exploded in seconds and I got injured by the debris of the explosion"


He claimed that the blast blew over a signage near his shop.
