ENUGU CITIZENS PROTEST AND DEMAND JUSTICE OVER OYIBO CHUKWUS'S DEATH
Justice for the murdered Labour Party senatorial candidate for the Enugu East district, Barr. Oyibo Chukwu, has been demanded by concerned Enugu State citizens.
A few days before the presidential and national assembly elections, Chukwu was assassinated.
Furious Enugu citizens, regardless of political affiliation, are now demanding that his death not be ignored.
They argued that Chukwu, who was cruelly murdered alongside five other people by as-yet-unidentified gunmen, must receive justice under the leadership of Dr. Ben Nwoye, the immediate past Enugu State Chairman of the All Progressives Party, APC.
The demonstrators demanded an end to political killings in the state while dressed in complete black.

According to Nwoye, the demands we are making are minimal, "justice over the death of Barrister Chukwu who was brutally murdered on the 22nd of February on his way back from campaign."
He claimed that the Amurri people had lost a precious gem who had made a significant contribution to the growth of the region.
"We are calling for an investigation into his murder; our demand is that the perpetrators should be brought to book," he further stated.
The concerned citizens carried placards with various inscriptions such as: "we demand justice for Oyibo Chukwu", "What has our brother done to be murdered like a goat", "Enugu State has wasted our brother without recourse".
They were present in the Enugu Division of the Court of Appeal, the State High Court, as well as a number of other important sites in the state capital.
Speaking to journalists, numerous demonstrators expressed their resentment over the brutal murder of the former chairman of the NBA Oji River branch.
Another protester, Mr. Kenneth Egbo, who identified himself, said: "Today it is Oyibo Chukwu, tomorrow who knows who will be the next?"
