WITH ALMOST 45,000 VOTES, PETER OBI IS LEADING ATIKU AND TINUBU IN THE PLATEAU

Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate and the Labour Party's presidential candidate, trailed Peter Obi by 45,297 votes in the results of seven Local Governments so far announced at the Plateau State collation center of the Independent National Election Commission (INEC).


According to the results made public on Sunday at the state collation center, Obi received a total of 135,562 votes, while Atiku received 90,265. With 80,575 votes, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu of the ruling All Progressives (APC) was in second place.


There are still 10 LGAs to add after Plateau's total of 17.


Prior to midnight, the collation was suspended by the Federal University, Lafia's returning officer, Prof. Shehu Abdulrahaman, who also declared that the exercise will resume at 8 am.
