PETER OBI IS TO BLAME FOR NIGERIA'S UNEMPLOYMENT - ADAMS OSHIOMHOLE

Peter Obi, the Labour Party's (LP) residential candidate, has been charged for contributing to Nigeria's high unemployment rate.

Adams Oshiomhole, a former governor of Edo State, claimed that Obi's importation of finished items increased unemployment in Nigeria.

The claim was made by the All Progressives Congress, APC, senatorial candidate for Edo North at the weekend kickoff of his campaign in the Auchi region of the State.

"Obi owns the biggest shopping mall in Abuja and all the items sold there are imported.

"If he is selling imported wines, clothes and other items, he is contributing to why Nigeria is going down because he is creating jobs abroad and importing unemployment to Nigeria," Oshiomhole said.

According to statistics, Nigeria had a 33 percent unemployment rate as of the third quarter of 2020.

The majority of Nigerians and analysts blamed the APC for the high unemployment rate in the nation.

Obi had made ensuring that Nigeria becomes a production economy the centerpiece of his campaign after emerging as the LP's presidential candidate.
