COURT ORDERED THE TEMPORARY CONFISCATION OF 40 OF SENATOR EKWEREMADU'S ASSETS

The court ordered the temporary confiscation of 40 of Senator Ekweremadu's assets. An order has been made by the Abuja-based Federal High Court.

40 landed properties owned by former Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu have been temporarily forfeited.

The decision was made on Friday by Justice Inyang Ekwo. Ibrahim Buba moved an ex-parte motion on behalf of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on November 4 that was designated, FHC/ ABJ/CS/1242/2022 (EFCC).

Ten of the homes are in Enugu, three are in the US, two are in the UK, one is in Lagos, nine are in Dubai, and fifteen are in Abuja.

A national daily must publish the interim forfeiture order of the properties, according to the Judge's ruling on the motion, within seven days of the order's date.

In the UK, Ekweremadu and his wife are currently on trial for allegedly harvesting organs.
