Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) leader Nnamdi Kanu has expressed sorrow over the passing of First Republic Aviation Minister Mbazulike Amaechi.

Kanu praised Amaechi as a fantastic individual who he interacted with frequently on a fraternal level.

After a normal meeting with his legal team at the Department of State Services, or DSS, the IPOB leader's comment was revealed by his Special Counsel, Aloy Ejimakor.

Kanu remembered how close they were when Amaechi was alive and sent his condolences to the deceased's family.

In a tweet, Ejimakor writes: "Update: I just exited from seeing Onyendu #MNK. He's pained by the passing of Pa Mbazulike Amaechi. He recalled how close they were & the many fraternal interactions between them in times past. He called him a 'great man' & sent his heartfelt condolences to his family."

At the age of 93, Amaechi passed away on Tuesday.

The sole remaining Zikist's death was reported by his family.

Amaechi was renowned for his efforts on behalf of Igbo country, particularly his call for Kanu's release.
