FOLASADE OGUNSOLA IS UNILAG'S FIRST female VICE CHANCELLOR

The University of Lagos (UNILAG) has appointed Prof. Folasade Ogunsola as the institution's first female Vice Chancellor.

Mrs. Ogunsola will succeed Prof. Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, the outgoing VC of the 60-year-old institution, whose tenure ends on November 11, 2022.

Mrs. Ogunsola's appointment makes her the institution's 13th vice-chancellor.

Mrs. Ogunsola, 64, was chosen over ten other professors after being shortlisted and interviewed by The Selection Committee of the Governing Council and Senate on Friday.

She previously served as the institution's deputy VC from 2017 to 2021, and the university senate elected her as acting VC on August 24, 2020.
