TARABA APC GOVERNORSHIP CANDIDATE HAS BEEN FIRED BY THE COURT

The All Progressives Congress governorship candidate in Taraba State, Emmanuel Bwacha, has been fired by a Federal High Court in Jalingo, the state capital.

Bwacha was fired as a result of a petition filed by one of the candidates, David Sabo Kente.

Based on the evidence presented in court, Justice Simon Amobeda ordered a new governorship primary in Taraba within 14 days.

The judge also ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission to stop immediately recognizing Emmanuel Bwacha as the party's candidate, and the current senator representing Taraba South to stop parading himself as the APC's governorship candidate.

He contended that all of the primary results could not have the same handwriting, while the returning officer stated that no primary was held in the state at the police headquarters due to security concerns.

The alleged false declaration of results at Danbaba Suntai Airport Jalingo by the returning officer before jetting out of the state via a private jet was described as inappropriate by Justice Amobeda.

In response to the judgment, counsel for the APC and the sacked candidate stated that they will study it before proceeding to the Appeal Court or holding a new primary.
