PDP IS IN TROUBLE AS WIKE'S GROUP WITHDRAWS FROM THE ATIKU CAMPAIGN

The crisis engulfing the country's main opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party, grew worse on Wednesday, with Governor Nyesom Wike's team reportedly withdrawing from the party's presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, campaign council.

This came after a meeting early Wednesday morning in Port Harcourt, the capital of Rivers State.

Members of Rivers State Governor Atiku's campaign team have reportedly pledged not to participate in Atiku's campaign ahead of the 2023 general elections.

They insisted that the PDP's National Chairman, Senator Lyorchia Ayu, resign in order for them to reverse their decision.

Wike had called for Ayu's resignation after the party's presidential primary was won by Atiku.

On Wednesday, a government source who did not want his name mentioned confirmed this.
