PROMINENT OYO KINGMAKER IS KILLED IN AN ALAAFIN STOOL FIGHT

The death of a kingmaker and member of the traditional council, Oyomesi, High Chief Abdul Rasheed Shehu, has caused a major setback in the ongoing screening of candidates for the stool of Alaafin of Oyo.

Oyo East Local Government officials confirmed the death of Oyo High Chief in the early hours of Sunday in a statement.

The Alapinni of Oyoland died in the early hours of Sunday after battling an unspecified illness.

His arrival coincides with the tussle for the Alaafin of Oyo's stool.

According to the findings, Alapinni has been absent from the ongoing screening and interview of aspirants vying for Alaafin's stool.
