Christian Harrison and Neal Skupski defeated Kevin Krawietz and Tim Puetz 6-4, 7-6(6) on Saturday to claim the US Open men's doubles title.  

The Australian Open champions, Christian Harrison and Neal Skupski, beat Kevin Krawietz and Tim Puetz 6-4, 7-6(6) to lift the US Open men's doubles trophy.

The defending Australian Open winners grabbed the first set when Harrison cracked a two-handed backhand return winner to break for 4-3. The American-British pair then held firm on serve to close it out 6-4.  

The German pair fought back to lead 3-2 in the second, but the American-British team replied with a quick love service game to draw level.

The 2024 runners-up pushed to 4-3 and 5-4, even saving a set point along the way. Harrison and Skupski hung tough, and Harrison battled through a tricky sun-affected service game to force a breaker.

Puetz volleyed the Germans into a 4-3 lead in the breaker, yet Harrison and Skupski hit back. A Skupski return forced a late Krawietz mistake, and the pair claimed their second major doubles crown of 2026.

The title made up for past heartbreak for Skupski, who was runner-up in 2022 with Dutchman Wesley Koolhof and again in 2024 with Joe Salisbury.

Salisbury stepped away from tennis last year to deal with anxiety, and Skupski started the 2026 season partnering Harrison instead.  

Harrison and Skupski go back a long way, having played a Futures event together in England in 2013. Their reunion paid off immediately with victory at the Australian Open to start the year.

“It's been obviously an amazing couple of weeks for us,” Skupski told reporters.

“It's just total focus throughout the match, believing in each other, looking at our team, trying to give us as much energy as possible.”

“When we play with energy and belief, we're a very dangerous team. We both believe in each other's games. I ‌feel like we complement each other very well on the court,” the 36-year-old player added.

The home triumph was especially special for Harrison, 32, who battled back from eight operations and a long injury layoff to return to elite level.

“Of course, there's always a little bit of doubt, especially as you're getting older and you realise your body is ⁠not recovering the same, but I ⁠never lost my joy ‌for playing.”
