Egyptian teenager Hamza Abdelkarim is set to extend his stay at Barcelona, with the club confirming on Friday that he will sign a new deal next week running until 2030.
The 18-year-old first arrived at Barcelona on loan from Egyptian giants Al Ahly in February, before the move was made permanent over the summer. He also represented Egypt at the World Cup earlier this year.
Abdelkarim made history as the youngest player ever to play for Egypt at the World Cup, featuring in four of the team’s five matches.

Abdelkarim caught the eye during Barcelona’s pre-season, scoring four goals in five games. He then made his first competitive appearance for the Spanish champions as a late sub in last month’s 5-2 La Liga victory over Rayo Vallecano.
The club confirmed he is set to put pen to paper on his contract extension on Tuesday.
