Pedersen takes final stage as Van Aert clinches Danish tour title...
Rasmus Sojberg Pedersen won the sprint on stage 5 of the Tour of Denmark on Sunday. Overall leader Wout van Aert of Visma-Lease a Bike finished 11th and secured the general classification after winning the first three stages.
A big crash in the final corner split the peloton. Jensen Plowright of Alpecin-Premier Tech kicked off the sprint, but faded. Pedersen found a gap on the right and surged through, while Max Walscheid attacked on the opposite side. Pedersen had enough to beat the German veteran and hold off a charging Tom Crabbe.
Van Aert claimed his first overall stage race victory in three years, putting the setback of the injury that forced him to miss the Tour de France firmly behind him.

“I’ll especially remember the three consecutive stage wins. That’s something I’ve never experienced before, and particularly after a long period of training following my injury it wasn’t something I had expected. So that will certainly stay with me,” said the Belgian after the race.
Van Aert’s teammate Christophe Laporte made a late push for third overall, but Henrik Breiner Pedersen held firm to keep his spot on the podium.
Slovakia’s Lukas Koby (Unibet) finished as runner-up in the general classification.
