Alcaraz set for US Open Comeback after skipping Cincinnati return...
Carlos Alcaraz is set to make his comeback at the US Open, ending a four-month layoff due to a wrist injury as he looks to defend his crown in New York.
The 7-time Grand Slam winner confirmed on Thursday that he will feature in the tournament. He has been sidelined since pulling out of the Barcelona Open in April, and has also missed the French Open, Wimbledon, and the North American hard-court swing in Toronto and Cincinnati.
Alcaraz had originally planned to return in Cincinnati the event he won last year but decided to give his wrist extra time to heal. He’s ramped up his training over the past few weeks and even hit with Denmark’s Holger Rune in Murcia to see how the injury held up under tougher intensity.
His comeback even got the “football transfer” treatment. Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano announced it on Instagram with a simple “Here we go!” to confirm Alcaraz would be back for the US Open.
HERE WE GO! 👋🏻🇺🇸

Flushing Meadows means a lot to Alcaraz. That’s where he won his first Grand Slam in 2022, and in the process became the youngest ever world No.1 in ATP history.
