Angels send Jo Adell to Guardians for Jacob Cozart...

The Los Angeles Angels dealt outfielder Jo Adell to the Cleveland Guardians just ahead of Monday’s trade deadline, bringing back catcher Jacob Cozart in return.

Adell, 27, is hitting .239/.287/.395 this year with 16 home runs and 62 RBI. The 7-year veteran broke out in 2025 with career bests of 37 homers and 98 RBI.

Cozart, 23, ranks as Cleveland’s No. 18 prospect. The catcher is batting .239/.330/.384 with 10 home runs and 44 RBI across 79 games at Double-A this season.

Adell has been with the Angels his whole career since debuting in 2020. It was a bumpy start, but he turned things around in 2024 with a breakout year 20 home runs, 62 RBI and 15 stolen bases before topping that with career highs in 2025.

He’s also turned heads with his defense. Earlier this season Adell grabbed national attention after robbing three home runs in one game.

The Guardians are right in the mix in the AL Central. They’re 57-56 and sit three games back of the first-place Chicago White Sox.

The Angels, meanwhile, are leaning into another rebuild. Along with the Adell deal, they’ve already moved Jose Soriano to the Blue Jays this deadline, and sent Chase Silseth and Logan O’Hoppe to the Rangers.
