Finland’s Harri Heliovaara and Britain’s Henry Patten gave the Wimbledon crowd something to cheer in 2026, winning the Men’s Doubles title for the second time with a straight-sets victory over Marcelo Arevalo and Mate Pavic, 7-6, 7-6.

The duo were chasing the title they first won two years ago and a third Grand Slam overall. For Pavic, a career Grand Slam winner, it was a bid for a second Wimbledon trophy, while it would have been a first at SW19 for Arevalo.

As in any top-level final, both teams showed the form that carried them to the last match. In the opening set, only one game reached deuce as both pairs held serve comfortably, and the top seeds made just one unforced error the entire set.

The set went to a tiebreak, something the Finn and Brit had become familiar with over the past two weeks. They stayed calm under pressure, going up 5-2 with two mini-breaks and closing out a 7-4 win.

The sixth seeds showed no signs of fading. Serve continued to dominate for both pairs and it soon became obvious the set would be settled in another tiebreak.

The breaker was their undoing again. Two early lost serves put Arevalo and Pavic 5-1 down, and Heliovaara and Patten finished the job on their second championship point thanks to a big ace from Patten.

The victory means the 37-year-old from Helsinki and his 30-year-old partner stay top of the ATP Doubles rankings, a spot they took after reaching the French Open final last month.
