Marcus Rashford: England 'Unfazed' by Unique World Cup Test vs Mexico at Azteca
Mexico have lost just twice in 89 games at the Azteca and haven't conceded in 4 World Cup matches as they host England in the knockouts.
Mexico vs England: kick-off could move due to storm risk at Azteca...
Marcus Rashford insists England aren't fazed by the challenge of facing Mexico in the World Cup round of 16, even with the game set for the high-altitude Azteca Stadium.
Thomas Tuchel’s side travel south from their Kansas City base later Friday to take on the co-hosts at their fortress home.
The Azteca pitch sits at 2,240 metres, or 7,350 feet, above sea level. At that height the air is thinner, so every breath brings in less oxygen, and the ball moves faster and carries further.
“It's going to be tough,” Rashford said on Friday. “There are no easy games in the World Cup. Different teams bring different problems to us.
“It's up to us on the pitch and on the training ground to find new solutions.”
The winger added: “The altitude obviously plays a factor but it's not something that we're worried about or anything like that. We're all experienced players. We have to manage the game.”
Mexico may not be listed among the World Cup favourites, but their record at the Azteca is intimidating. They’ve lost just twice in 89 games at the stadium.

The #ThreeLions will be in our home kit for our @FIFAWorldCup Round of 16 game against Mexico!
Under Javier Aguirre, El Tri have played every match on home soil so far and haven’t conceded a goal in four tournament games.
“Me as a person, I live in the moment,” he said. “I was very clear with everyone involved before the World Cup.
“I wanted it done before but if it's not, then I won't be dealing with it until after because I want to be fully present in this moment and at the same time we're fighting to do something so special.”
Marcus Rashford’s club future is still up in the air after he returned to Manchester United following a loan spell at Barcelona.
The 28-year-old said he’d hoped to have his situation sorted before the World Cup kicked off.
The Mexico vs England last-16 tie could be pushed to an earlier kick-off because of the threat of storms and flooding, according to a source close to the arrangements.
The match is currently set for 6:00 pm local time, but reports in Mexico suggest it may be moved to midday.
Asked about a possible schedule change, Rashford said it wouldn’t be “ideal” but that the squad would just get on with it.
