Late Sarajevo goal cancels out Inter Turku’s Conference League lead.
Inter Turku were within touching distance of a precious away victory in Bosnia & Herzegovina, but a late Sarajevo equaliser meant their UECL First Qualifying Round first leg finished 1-1.
Inter join Ilves in starting their European campaign with an away stalemate. The Tampere side were held 0-0 at Differdange in Luxembourg.
Inter Turku looked set to leave the Bosnian capital with all three points after striking early. Essomba provided the assist as Conteh opened the scoring inside eight minutes.
Sarajevo took control thereafter, enjoying the majority of possession and fashioning more opportunities. Yet their lack of penetration showed - Huuhtanen was called into action just once over the 90 minutes.
A final twist arrived deep into stoppage time. Barisic, introduced from the bench, equalised in the 94th minute to ensure the sides head to Turku for the July 16 return leg with the tie finely poised.
