Novak Djokovic is through to a Wimbledon semi-final showdown with defending champion Jannik Sinner. The Serbian battled past Felix Auger-Aliassime in a grueling five-set match on Tuesday, shaking off a calf issue to keep his title hopes alive.

Djokovic picked up the calf injury in the opening set but refused to stop. He outlasted Auger-Aliassime 7-6(10), 3-6, 6-3, 6-7(4), 7-6 (10-4) in a five-hour, 15-minute epic played in brutal heat.

After surviving the longest Wimbledon quarter-final ever in a Centre Court classic, the 39-year-old will now face world No. 1 Sinner on Friday for a spot in the final.

“It's just another ⁠semi-final for me. I'm going to look at the numbers and everything when I finish my career,” Djokovic said.

“Right now, it's all business. I still have to recover. I'm still in the tournament, and I have the best player in the world in a few days.”

Sinner advanced in straight sets over German veteran Jan-Lennard Struff on Tuesday, while Djokovic had to dig much deeper. He outlasted Canadian third seed Felix Auger-Aliassime in what ranks among the gutsiest Wimbledon performances ever.

Now the big question is whether Djokovic has anything left to take down Sinner.

Djokovic is chasing a record 25th Grand Slam and a record-tying eighth Wimbledon title. He holds a 5-6 record against Sinner in 11 meetings.

Djokovic beat Sinner at Wimbledon in both 2022 and 2023. But the Italian got revenge in last year's semi-finals, before Djokovic turned it around and beat him in the Australian Open semi-finals back in January.
