Real Madrid sign Felicia Schroder for reported World record €1.5m fee...

Real Madrid have confirmed the signing of 19-year-old Swedish talent Felicia Schroder through 2030. After fighting off interest from several of Europe’s top clubs, Los Blancas’ women’s team landed one of the most in-demand young players on the planet for a reported record fee.

Chelsea looked set to win the race with a €1.4m bid, but Real Madrid pushed ahead at the last minute. Spanish outlet Marca says the club tabled €1.5m to get the deal done. If accurate, that would make Schroder the most expensive transfer in women’s football history, eclipsing Lizbeth Ovalle’s recent €1.4m move from Mexico to Orlando Pride. Swedish reports, however, list the fee closer to €1.3m.

The player from Björkö has put pen to paper on a four-year contract with the Merengues, a clear statement of Real Madrid’s intent to cement their place among Europe’s top women’s sides.

Spotted early at BK Hacken, Schroder debuted in Sweden’s top division at only 16 and has been smashing records since. She showed promise with 12 goals in 2024, then exploded in 2025 with 30 goals in 26 league games.

She’s no stranger to Europe either, with 23 continental appearances under her belt. Schroder also caught the eye by winning the Europa Cup and taking the Golden Boot after netting 8 times in 6 matches. Already a full Sweden international with 11 caps at just 19, she’s known for sharp finishing and smart movement in the box.
