Keys and Ostapenko charge into Eastbourne semis as Draper advances on men's side...

Two former Eastbourne champions, Madison Keys and Jelena Ostapenko, booked their spots in the WTA semi-finals Thursday with dominant straight-set wins in the final Wimbledon tune-up.

Keys, who lifted the trophy in 2014 and 2023, hasn’t lost a set all week. She eased past fellow American McCartney Kessler 6-3, 6-1 in the quarter-finals.

Meanwhile, 2021 winner Jelena Ostapenko powered into the semis too, beating Zeynep Sonmez 6-3, 6-0. She did it less than 24 hours after dealing with heat stroke.

Keys and Ostapenko are now the only seeded players still standing in the women’s draw.

Both have a Grand Slam title on their resume. Ostapenko won Roland Garros in 2017 for Latvia, and Keys took her first major at the Australian Open last year.

Keys takes on Petra Marcinko next after the Croatian outlasted Caty McNally 6-3, 4-6, 6-4 in a 2-hour, 18-minute quarter-final.

“I’m very happy with today’s performance,” Keys said after making her fourth Eastbourne semi on grass.

Former Wimbledon semi-finalist Ostapenko faces Tatjana Maria in the last four. Maria advanced 6-3, 7-5 over Tereza Valentova. Ostapenko admitted she wasn’t sure she’d even play: “I didn’t think I was going to play today. After the match yesterday at 10:00 pm, I had heat stroke, so I felt really bad.”

Draper keeps rolling in Eastbourne

Jack Draper’s comeback keeps gathering pace. Working with Andy Murray, the former world No. 4 cruised past Gabriel Diallo 6-1, 6-4 to reach his first ATP semi-final since Queen’s Club last year.

He’ll face France’s Ugo Humbert next after Humbert beat fellow Frenchman Quentin Halys 6-3, 6-4.

British interest doesn’t stop there. Lucky loser Toby Samuel pulled off the biggest win of his career, knocking out 8th seed Juan Manuel Cerundolo 6-3, 6-4 to join Draper in the semis.

Samuel’s reward is a clash with Belgium’s Zizou Bergs, who eased past British qualifier Jan Choinski 6-3, 6-3.
