Senators-Panthers Blockbuster: Ottawa moves Brady Tkachuk for a massive draft haul after being swept by Carolina. The 20-goal scorer joins Matthew in Florida following Team USA’s Winter Olympics gold.
Brady Tkachuk traded to Panthers for 4 picks, joins Brother Matthew in Florida...
Brady Tkachuk is heading to the Florida Panthers. The Senators are sending their captain to Florida in return for a massive package of three first-round picks and one second-round pick, per multiple NHL insiders.
Ottawa gets Florida’s No. 9 and No. 25 picks in this year’s draft, plus a 2027 second-rounder and a 2029 first-round pick in the deal.
At 26, Tkachuk will now line up alongside his brother Matthew in Florida. The Panthers are coming off back-to-back Stanley Cup titles in 2024 and 2025.
Brady spent his entire 8-year NHL career in Ottawa and is fresh off a 22-goal, 37-assist season with the Senators.
The two Team USA Olympians will team up as Florida tries to bounce back. After their Cup run, the Panthers slipped to 40-38-4 last season and missed the playoffs.
Ottawa is now pivoting to the future after landing a huge draft haul for Tkachuk. The Senators were swept in round one by the reigning Stanley Cup champs, the Carolina Hurricanes.
Earlier this year, Brady and Matthew helped Team USA capture its third Winter Olympics gold ever. The Americans beat Canada to do it.

Brady should be a huge lift for Florida’s lineup. He’s hit at least 20 goals and 20 assists every year of his career, except for the shortened 2020-2021 COVID season.
Matthew only played 31 games last season after a hernia at the 4 Nations Face-Off and surgery for a torn adductor. Since joining the Panthers in 2022 he’s racked up 101 goals and 187 assists in 242 games.
