Corentin Moutet hit with $40,000 fine for swearing 7 times in Queen’s interview...

Corentin Moutet has been slapped with a big fine for swearing on purpose during his Queen’s Club interview.

The Frenchman dropped the F-word seven times on BBC after beating Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard in round one.

Moutet said the first swear slipped out when he was asked about Mpetshi Perricard’s huge serve: “When he hits me at 142, I was like f**_!”

The BBC interviewer warned him to clean up his language. Moutet grinned and dropped three more expletives anyway.

He got one last warning, but Moutet chose to say “f* f* f_**” three more times on purpose. The interview was ended early.

On Friday the ATP confirmed Moutet was fined $40,000 for “unsportsmanlike conduct” and “use of profane language during his post-match interview.”

According to the ATP, Moutet plans to appeal the fine.

He picked up about £33,000 for making round two, so the penalty wipes out most of his earnings for the tournament.

The fine works out to over 90% of his prize money - roughly £4,300 per F-word he said.

Moutet’s run ended in the second round with a straight-sets loss to Spain’s Alejandro Davidovich Fokina.
