They Are Very Good’: Nuno Praises Arsenal Ahead of Crucial Clash
| Nuno focused on West Ham survival, not future, ahead of Arsenal clash |
West Ham manager Nuno Espirito Santo says his only focus is avoiding relegation as the Hammers face league leaders Arsenal with three games left.
18th-placed West Ham host Premier League leaders Arsenal on Sunday. Nuno admits survival is out of their hands, praising Arsenal as “very good” and “talented.”
West Ham manager Nuno Espirito Santo said he isn’t thinking about his job security right now, with his full focus on keeping the club in the Premier League.
The board is reportedly keen to keep Nuno regardless of the outcome, even though he only took charge in September on a three-year contract. That stance holds even if West Ham drop to the Championship.
The Hammers sit 18th, one point behind Tottenham, while Wolves and Burnley have already been relegated.
With three matches left, West Ham’s fate isn’t entirely in their hands. On Sunday they face a tough home game against league leaders Arsenal.
Arsenal will head to the London Stadium full of confidence after their win over Atletico Madrid on Tuesday secured a place in the Champions League final.

The Gunners sit five points clear at the top of the Premier League and have won their last two trips to the London Stadium by a combined 11-2 scoreline.
“It’s difficult because they are very good,” said Nuno. “They are a very talented team that is fighting for huge things and achieving huge moments.”
“I'm going to be honest with you - I don't have one second to think about next season,” Portuguese coach Nuno said on Friday.
“It's so demanding what we have, the challenge, especially the game on Sunday, that's what we have to focus on.
“I don't have enough energy to think about what's ahead. It's tomorrow, then tomorrow, day-by-day.”
