Harri Heliovaara and Henry Patten marched into the third round at the 2026 French Open with a dominant straight-sets win. The No.2 seeds beat Mattia Bellucci and Fabian Marozsan 6-1, [score missing] to advance in the men’s doubles.

It’s back-to-back straight-sets victories for the Finnish-British pair. They opened their Roland Garros campaign with a 6-3, 6-3 win over Nelson Borges and Zhang Zhizhen. Now just one win separates them from matching their best-ever run at the French Open.

Marozsan gifted Heliovaara and Patten an early break with two double faults in his opening service game. The No.2 seeds jumped on it to go 2-1 up, then Heliovaara held comfortably. The top seeds kept the pressure on and forced Bellucci into mistakes to break again.

Patten served out for 5-1, and Marozsan cracked under the strain. A couple of unforced errors from the Hungarian let Heliovaara and Patten seal six games in a row and wrap up the first set 6-1.

Bellucci and Marozsan came out firing in the second set. They pushed Patten to deuce twice in his opening service game, but the Essex native held firm. The next two games went on serve before the seeds looked back in control, breaking Bellucci’s serve without conceding a point.

The underdogs weren’t done though. They fended off three break points in game six, saved match point in game eight, then stunned the favorites by breaking back in game nine. Patten cost himself there with a double fault and two unforced errors.

Heliovaara and Patten answered immediately. They closed out the match in the following game by breaking Marozsan’s serve and taking the set 6-4.

The 6-1, 6-4 win sends the former Wimbledon and Australian Open champions into the third round. Next up is the winner of Andre Goransson/Evan King vs Diego Hidalgo/Patrik Trhac.
