Cremonese are still at risk of dropping straight back to Serie B after Lazio fought back to win 2-1 on the road at Stadio Giovanni Zini. The result means the Grigiorossi have now gone 10 home matches without a victory, drawing 4 and losing 6.
Cremonese created little early on while Lazio let a good opportunity slip by. Oliver Provstgaard met Mattia Zaccagni’s floated free-kick with a header across goal, capping a dominant opening 20 minutes for the visitors.
Even with little control of the game, Cremonese took the lead just before the half-hour mark thanks to a goalkeeping error. Federico Bonazzoli struck a low shot from 20 yards that looked routine for Lazio keeper Edoardo Motta, but the Italy U21 goalkeeper misjudged it and watched it slip past him late.
Bonazzoli, energized by his eighth league goal of the season, forced Motta into action with a bold bicycle kick right before halftime, leaving Lazio to walk off frustrated at the break.
Lazio came out with more intent after the restart, and Alessio Romagnoli saw a powerful header denied by Emil Audero in the 50th minute.
That chance served as a warning from Maurizio Sarri’s team. Nuno Tavares surged from inside his own half, tearing through Cremonese’s defense before laying the ball off to Tijjani Noslin, who nudged it on for Gustav Isaksen to slot home an easy equalizer.
With both sides pushing for a winner, Sarri and Marco Giampaolo turned to their benches late on, with Jamie Vardy making a brief appearance after coming on for an injured player.
Lazio ultimately grabbed the win in stoppage time when Noslin curled a shot in from the edge of the area.
Cremonese stay 18th, four points from safety with three matches left to play. Lazio move up to eighth and now turn their attention to two straight games against Inter Milan.

Sarri’s side host the newly crowned league champions on May 9, before facing them again four days later in the Coppa Italia final. Lazio must win that cup final to keep any hopes alive of qualifying for European competition in 2026-27.
