Barcelona clinched their 29th LaLiga crown with a 2-0 win against Real Madrid in a Clasico that decided the title for only the second time in history. It was a bittersweet evening for Hansi Flick, who learned of his father’s passing hours before kickoff.
Despite a training-ground clash with Federico Valverde midweek that left Valverde in hospital and both players fined €500,000, Aurelien Tchouameni retained his spot in Real’s starting XI.

It's not just a league title.

Real came out with the urgency of a side needing a win to delay Barcelona’s celebrations, but fell behind in the 9th minute. Marcus Rashford curled a stunning free kick into the top corner from just outside the box, bringing his tally for the season to 14.
The minute’s silence before kickoff was observed perfectly, but the mood shifted quickly as Barcelona made it 2-0 in the 18th minute. Ferran Torres latched onto Dani Olmo’s clever flick and finished calmly for his 12th first-half goal in La Liga this season.
Real pushed for an immediate reply. Gonzalo Garcia was played through one-on-one but could only hit the side netting, and Thibaut Courtois then denied Rashford from a similar chance at the other end.
Barcelona came out for the second half intent on handing their rivals a heavy defeat, and it didn’t take long for tensions to boil over. The first flashpoint saw players from both sides clash, with Raul Asencio and Dani Olmo both picking up yellow cards.
Courtois kept Real in it with a sharp save at his feet to deny Torres one-on-one, and frustration grew for the visitors when Jude Bellingham had a goal chalked off for offside just after the hour mark.
With 20 minutes to go, the home crowd were already chanting “Campeones” and applauding every Barcelona pass. Courtois made late stops to keep out efforts from Raphinha and Robert Lewandowski as the substitutes tried to add a final flourish.
Real pushed late for a goal to quiet the celebrations, but couldn’t find a way through and slipped to a defeat that means they’ll finish the season without silverware for just the second time since 2009/10.
For Barcelona, the party is only beginning. An 11th straight league win and an 18th home win from 18 in LaLiga sealed back-to-back titles.
Hansi Flick’s side now sit 14 points clear with three games left, keeping alive the chance to break their own record for the biggest title-winning margin in LaLiga history of 15 points.
