NFL wide receiver Stefon Diggs was found not guilty on all charges following an assault case in Massachusetts.


The former New England Patriots player was acquitted by a jury of both felony strangulation and misdemeanor assault and battery after allegations involving his live-in personal chef.


Dressed in a grey suit and tie, Stefon Diggs sat quietly in court and gave a slight nod as the jury delivered its not guilty verdict.


The case began in December when personal chef Jamila Adams went to police, alleging the dispute started over unpaid wages.


In her statement, Adams claimed the 32-year-old struck her in the face and attempted to choke her by wrapping his arm around her neck. She also said she and Diggs had previously been in a romantic relationship.


Diggs entered a not guilty plea during a February court appearance, just days after lining up for the Patriots in the Super Bowl.


Diggs’ legal team maintained that no assault occurred and highlighted financial demands allegedly made by Adams’ representatives just before the trial started.




After a two-day trial, the jury took about 90 minutes to reach a not guilty verdict on both charges, per local outlets.
