Levante reignited their LaLiga survival bid with a 3-2 win at Celta Vigo, snapping a seven-game winless run on the road. The result also dented Celta’s hopes of qualifying for next season’s Champions League.

Celta, managed by Claudio Giraldez, were hoping to put pressure on Real Betis in the race for fifth. Instead, they came up short against a Levante side desperate for points and struggling away from home.

The hosts started strongly and nearly took the lead when Mathew Ryan pulled off a save to deny Fer Lopez after a fluid attacking move.

Celta didn’t stay level for long. In the 5th minute, Ferran Jutgla cut into the box and curled a right-footed shot into the bottom corner to open the scoring.

That early goal pushed Levante even closer to relegation, but the visitors responded well and refused to let it derail them.

Kareem Tunde dragged a shot wide at the near post from Pablo Martínez’s cross, and Ionut Radu had to stretch to keep out Kervin Arriaga’s downward header.

Levante’s persistence paid off in the 43rd minute. Arriaga struck from distance, and Radu misjudged the ball completely, palming it into his own net to level the score.

The Honduran wasn’t done and went close again before the break, unleashing another long-range effort that fizzed just wide of the post.

Any belief Levante had built up was undone just three minutes into the second half. Jutgla grabbed his second, meeting Javi Rueda’s cross with a first-time finish at the far post to put Celta back in front.

Levante weren’t ready to give up and pulled level again through Adrián Dela, who curled in a superb long-range strike to silence the home crowd.

Things went from bad to worse for Celta six minutes later. Roger Brugue was left unmarked in the box and headed home Jon Olasagasti’s corner to give Los Azulgranas a stunning 3-2 lead.

Brugue could have added a fourth, but his left-footed effort came back off the crossbar.

The win gives Castro’s side three vital points and lifts them out of the bottom three, marking their first away league victory since January. It also ended a five-game winless run against Celta, whose struggles at home proved costly once again.

If Betis beat Elche tonight, Celta’s Champions League hopes will be mathematically over. Still, Celta’s strong away form means Europa League qualification remains a realistic possibility.
