Hansi Flick has agreed a new deal with Barcelona. The Spanish champions confirmed a two-year extension that includes an option for a third year.

“In just two seasons at FC Barcelona, Flick has already written himself into the club's history with titles, records, and a clear vision for the future,” read a statement from the Catalans.

Flick told reporters last week that he planned to stay as Barcelona coach. His earlier deal ran until 2027, but after securing the league title early, he said he felt he was in the “right place here” and made clear he wants to win the Champions League with the Blaugrana.

Reports say Barcelona president Joan Laporta would like to keep Flick until 2031, when his own term ends. The German manager, however, prefers signing shorter contracts.

Flick joined Barcelona in 2024. Since arriving, he has won two LaLiga titles and lifted the Copa del Rey last year. In this season’s Champions League, Barcelona went out in the quarter-finals after losing to Atlético Madrid.

“The German coach has built a competitive team that remains true to the club's identity, dominates domestic football, and can once again secure a place among Europe's elite,” the statement continued:

“With the contract extension, FC Barcelona ensures continuity for both the coach and the project.”
