Cobolli cruises into Roland Garros last 16 with win over Tien.

Italy’s Flavio Cobolli rolled past American Learner Tien 6-2, 6-2, 6-3 on Saturday to book his spot in the French Open fourth round in dominant fashion.

The No. 10 seed reached the second week of a Grand Slam for just the second time in his career. He jumped out to a 3-0 lead early as Tien looked flat after grinding through a 5-set win over Facundo Diaz Acosta in round 3.

Ranked 18th, the American arrived with momentum after winning his first clay-court title in Geneva last week and riding a six-match win streak. But once he fell 4-1 down in the second set, it was obvious that streak was over.

A Cobolli ace followed by a Tien backhand error sealed the second set, and the Italian kept rolling with another early break to go 3-1 up in the third.

Next up for the 24-year-old is American Zachary Svajda in the fourth round.
