The Russian dominated from the start, breaking serve five times to beat 2024 semifinalist Lois Boisson 6-2, 6-2. Kalinskaya now faces qualifier Alina Korneeva.
Last year’s home sensation Lois Boisson fell in round one to Kalinskaya, who controlled the match with early breaks and a 1 hour 19 minute win...
Anna Kalinskaya ended Lois Boisson’s French Open run quickly with a 6-2, 6-2 win in the first round on Tuesday. The 22nd seed knocked out last year’s home favorite in straight sets.
Boisson was the story of Roland Garros in 2024, entering as world No. 361 and making it all the way to the semifinals. She followed that up with a clay title in Hamburg that moved her into the top 50, but injuries slowed her progress afterward.
Kalinskaya took control right from the opening games on Tuesday. She broke Boisson’s serve in the first, third, and fifth games, while the 23-year-old managed only a single break back in game four, which wasn’t enough to change the outcome.

She advances to face qualifier Alina Korneeva in the second round.
