Comeback Complete, Braga score four unanswered to stun Betis...

SC Braga scored four unanswered goals to roar back against Real Betis and reach the UEFA Europa League semi-finals. The Portuguese side won 4-2 in the second leg to go through 5-3 on aggregate in chaotic fashion.

After a 1-1 draw in Portugal last week, Manuel Pellegrini’s Betis started fast in search of a semi-final spot. Antony guided Abde Ezzalzouli’s deflected cross home with a deft header to give the hosts a deserved lead on 13 minutes.

That lifted the noise inside a rocking Estadio de La Cartuja. Ezzalzouli struck again 12 minutes later, steering Pablo Fornals’ cutback home from close range to make it 2-0.

Betis looked in control when Ezzalzouli finished Antony’s pass, but VAR ruled it out for offside against the former Manchester United winger in the build-up.

Handed that reprieve, former Barcelona striker Pau Victor volleyed Braga back into the game just before half-time. The goal came after a defensive mix-up between Betis pair Marc Bartra and Diego Llorente.

Braga seized that spark immediately after the restart.

Vitor Carvalho’s towering header made it 2-2, and with momentum on their side, the Portuguese side went ahead on 53 minutes.
