Sunderland has issued a strong statement condemning the online racist abuse directed at striker Brian Brobbey after their 1-0 win over Tottenham. The club is taking the matter seriously and is working with authorities to address the issue.
The incident involved Brobbey and Tottenham's Cristian Romero, who collided with goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky in a key moment. Brobbey's actions were scrutinized, but he's received racist messages online, which Sunderland strongly condemns.
Romero was substituted, clearly distressed, and Kinsky finished the game with a heavily bandaged head.
Sunderland issued a statement saying, “We stand firmly with Brian and offer him our full and unwavering support,” condemning the racist abuse Brobbey received online after the match.
