Rayo Vallecano secured a crucial 1-0 win over relegation-threatened Elche, with super-sub Randy Nteka scoring a late winner. This victory moves Rayo seven points clear of the LaLiga relegation zone, marking their fourth consecutive home win against Elche.

Elche had a promising start, almost taking the lead immediately, but Rayo goalkeeper Augusto Batalla made a crucial save to keep Rafa Mir's strike out. Despite their strong start, Elche couldn't capitalize on their chances, and Rayo's Nteka scored the decisive goal.

Defender Pedrosa nearly made an impact straight away, but his close-range effort didn't trouble Batalla much.
