Max Muncy lifted a walk-off sac fly in the 11th as the Athletics beat the White Sox 7-6...
Max Muncy lifted a sacrifice fly to left in the bottom of the 11th inning on Saturday, handing the Athletics a 7-6 walk-off win over the Chicago White Sox.
The victory was Oakland’s seventh in their last 10 games, keeping them among the American League’s in-form teams despite back-to-back losses before this one.
The Athletics move to 11-10 on the year and now trail the Texas Rangers (11-9) by half a game for first place in the AL West.
Muncy went 1-for-5 on the night, with his only RBI coming on the game-winning sac fly. The third baseman is batting .274 this season with two homers and six RBI.
Chicago loaded the bases with two outs in the bottom of the ninth with the score tied 6-6, then did it again in the 11th with no outs. Both times they failed to score.

Athletics reliever Jack Perkins escaped trouble and closed out the final 2.1 innings to pick up his second win of the season.
Oakland was just as wasteful in the 10th, leaving the bases loaded again without scoring. Muncy made sure it didn’t drag on any further in the 11th.
Shea Langeliers, Jacob Wilson, and Nick Kurtz combined for six of Oakland’s 10 hits, with Wilson and Kurtz both going deep.

The loss drops the White Sox to 3-7 over their last 10 games and 7-14 overall this season.
That should be the full A’s-White Sox piece. Want fitting titles + meta descriptions for this one too?
