The Pittsburgh Penguins and New York Islanders made history by combining for eight goals in the second period, tying the season record for most goals scored in a period by two teams. The Penguins came back from a 3-1 deficit to win 8-3, with Rickard Rakell and Anthony Mantha scoring two goals each.


The Penguins' seven unanswered goals turned the game around, with Sidney Crosby contributing two assists and moving into third place all-time for multi-point games. The win moved Pittsburgh into second place in the Metropolitan Division, one point ahead of the Islanders.


Penguins Storm Back to Rout Islanders 8-3

The Pittsburgh Penguins turned the game around in the second period, scoring four straight goals after the New York Islanders took a 3-1 lead. The Penguins' eight goals in the period tied the most scored by two teams this season, securing an 8-3 win 


The Penguins turned the tide with seven unanswered goals, fueled by Rickard Rakell's and Anthony Mantha's two goals each, pushing them to 37-21-16 (90 points) and ahead of the Islanders in the Metro Division. The Islanders slipped to 42-28-5 (89 points).





Sidney Crosby continues to make history, now third all-time in multi-point games (514) and 1,100 assists (eighth all-time), with two assists in the game. 


Avalanche Dominates Flames 9-2

The Colorado Avalanche crushed the Calgary Flames 9-2, with Nazem Kadri scoring two power-play goals against his former team. The Avs were on fire, scoring five goals on 26 shots in the first period - more than the Flames had the entire game




Colorado's win puts them one victory away from reaching 50 wins on the season, sitting at 49-14-10. The Flames, on the other hand, fell to 31-35-8
