Anthony Edwards dropped 30 points as the Minnesota Timberwolves erased a double-digit deficit to upset the Denver Nuggets 119-114 Monday and level the NBA playoff series.
In a huge battle in Denver, the Wolves erased an early 19-point hole before closing with a clinical fourth quarter to grab a key win in the best-of-seven Western Conference first-round series.
The Nuggets, 116-105 winners in Game 1 on Saturday, picked up where they left off with a blistering first quarter to go up 39-25.
But the Timberwolves hit back in the second quarter to make it 64-64 at halftime, then took control in the second half.
Edwards got help from Julius Randle’s 24 points, with Donte DiVincenzo adding 16.

Jamal Murray paced Denver with 30 points while Nikola Jokic posted 24 points, 15 rebounds and eight assists.
“We did what we expected to do,” Randle said.
“When you're coming on the road to start a series, you want to steal one. So we did that, and now we go home, and we've got two days to get our bodies right.”

Hawks Even Series Against Knicks
CJ McCollum had 32 points and sparked a dramatic fourth-quarter rally as the Atlanta Hawks erased a 12-point deficit to beat the New York Knicks 107-106 and tie the series.

Atlanta looked set to drop to 0-2 in the series after falling behind a confident Knicks team by as many as 14 points in the third quarter at Madison Square Garden.
A Jalen Brunson three tied it 103-103, but McCollum answered with a calm fadeaway to put Atlanta back in front. Jalen Johnson’s dunk then made it 107-103 with 10 seconds left.

Another Brunson three cut it to 107-106 and set up a frantic finish, but Mikal Bridges’ buzzer-beater missed for New York and Atlanta held on for the win.
Earlier Monday, the Cleveland Cavaliers beat the Toronto Raptors 115-105 to take a 2-0 series lead.
But the Hawks came alive in the fourth, ripping off an 11-0 run to grab a 103-100 lead with under two minutes left.
