Utah beats Vegas in Game 2 for first playoff win in franchise history.

The Utah Mammoth earned their first playoff win in franchise history, beating the Vegas Golden Knights 3-2 in Tuesday’s Game 2 to tie the series 1-1.

Mammoth goaltender Karel Vejmelka earned his first career playoff win with 19 saves.

Logan Cooley became the youngest American player in NHL history to score in each of his first two playoff games at 21 years, 353 days. He netted the game-winner late in the third to put the Mammoth up one.

Games 3 and 4 now shift to Utah on April 24 and April 27, where fans will get their first Stanley Cup Playoff games in Salt Lake City.

Game Flow: How It Happened

Vegas had three first-period power plays and converted the first chance.

Mark Stone buried his second goal of the playoffs for a 1-0 lead.

He’s now three points shy of passing Jonathan Marchessault’s franchise-record 75 playoff points.

Like Vegas, Utah also scored on its first power play - sort of.

Mackenzie Weegar got credit for his first playoff goal to tie it 1-1, after Rasmussen Anderson inadvertently kicked the puck into his own net.

Utah originally had a 4-on-3 power play and a 5-on-4 power play right after earlier in the second period but failed on both attempts.

Fans even received a ref hot mic moment after Utah's Michael Carcone was given a two-minute minor for unsportsmanlike conduct.

Utah needed 17 minutes to score in the first period and took 15 minutes to do it again in the second.

Dylan Guenther scored his first playoff goal on a one-timer for a 2-1 Mammoth lead that lasted just 62 seconds.

Vegas wouldn’t let Utah hold the lead for more than a minute.

Ivan Barbashev netted his second goal of the playoffs to tie it 2-2, with Jack Eichel adding his second assist of the night.

Six minutes into the third, Utah got a perfect chance on the power play. They managed just one shot as Vegas’s penalty kill stayed strong - until Utah finally broke through.

Utah finished 0-for-4 on the power play in Game 2. But the Mammoth kept finding success at even strength.

Cooley buried his second goal of the playoffs with six minutes left in the third to make it 3-2, sealing the win.
