Valente leaves training with injury, World Cup spot in jeopardy

Feyenoord midfielder Luciano Valente suffers groin injury, impact on Netherlands World Cup squad uncertain.

Luciano Valente's groin injury raises concerns...

Luciano Valente, Feyenoord's 22-year-old midfielder, had to leave Tuesday's public training session due to a groin injury. This is unfortunate timing for Feyenoord, as they're dealing with an injury crisis, and Valente has been one of the few players to stay healthy, playing 38 games and missing just two due to suspensions.

Valente's injury is a setback for Feyenoord, especially with crucial matches ahead, including their upcoming game against NEC Nijmegen. Coach Robin van Persie will need to reassess his lineup and strategies.

Luciano Valente, the Italian-Dutch midfielder, was seen holding his upper leg, specifically around his groin area, during Tuesday's public training session. The club hasn't made any official statement about the injury yet.

Valente has been in good form, featuring in Ronald Koeman's last two Netherlands squads, and is a contender for a spot in the national team for the upcoming FIFA World Cup in Canada, Mexico, and the United States.

PSV captain Jerdy Schouten is out of the tournament after sustaining a torn ACL in the Eredivisie champions' 4-3 win over FC Utrecht last weekend. This injury will also keep him out of the World Cup, with surgery and recovery expected to take six to nine months.

Meanwhile, Luciano Valente has had a solid season with Feyenoord, scoring three goals and providing seven assists in 38 games.
