Wolfsburg midfielder Christian Eriksen says he plans to keep playing for Denmark and is targeting qualification for the 2028 European Championship.
Speaking to Viaplay, Eriksen confirmed he wants to remain with the Danish national team, with qualifying for EURO 2028 as his main goal.
“I still feel like a big part of the national team. Of course, you never know which direction or what will happen later. But it is still a goal to qualify for the European Championship in 2028. Definitely.”
Eriksen says that he has given some thought to a possible national team stop.
Eriksen says he has thought about possibly ending his international career.
“It may just be your own thoughts that hit you. But at the same time, you go back to the fact that you love playing for Denmark - and if you have the opportunity to play for the national team, you might want to.”
“But we'll have to see how we stand later, and I'll also have a chat with national coach Brian Riemer at some point to hear what he thinks,” says Eriksen, who further says he is available if Riemer picks him.
Eriksen has already played 149 games for Denmark.
