FC Koln staged an impressive comeback to earn a vital point against Eintracht Frankfurt, battling back from 2-0 down to 2-2 in the final half-hour of the match.

The hosts had started strongly, with Michael Zetterer making crucial saves against Jakub Kamiński's initial shot and Ragnar Ache's follow-up effort. However, Köln's fortunes changed as they pushed for a goal, and they were 2-0 down before mounting a spirited comeback.

Eintracht Frankfurt had been dominant at home under Albert Riera, and they started to assert their control early on. However, their first clear chance was thwarted by FC Köln's goalkeeper Marvin Schwabe, who brilliantly turned Ansgar Knauff's poke wide.

Said El Mala had a great opportunity to score for Frankfurt, but his curled effort just missed the target. Schwabe continued to impress, denying Arnaud Kalimuendo a one-on-one chance, showcasing his excellent goalkeeping skills.

The game remained largely one-sided, with most of the action stuck in FC Koln's half. However, the visitors, Eintracht Frankfurt, created a great chance on the break, but it fell short. Said El Mala's square pass to Jakub Kaminski was too heavy, allowing Michael Zetterer to make a crucial save.

The second half was chaotic, with both sides pushing hard for a goal. The deadlock was finally broken in the 66th minute, with Frankfurt scoring the opener.

Fares Chaibi's break on the right flank led to Frankfurt's opener, as he pulled the ball back for Jonathan Burkardt to tap into the open net, giving his side a 1-0 lead.

Frankfurt's momentum continued, and they scored a second goal just minutes later. Arnaud Kalimuendo pounced on Ayoube Amaimouni-Echghouyab's rebound, firing the ball into the top corner to make it 2-0.

FC Koln pulled one back almost immediately, with Jakub Kamiński powering through the heart of the Frankfurt defence and placing his finish past Michael Zetterer.

The visitors continued to push for an equaliser, and René Wagner's substitutes played a crucial role with just over five minutes left, setting up the equaliser.

FC Koln's comeback began with Luca Waldschmidt's header, allowing Marius Bulter to play it across goal, where substitute Alessio Castro-Montes tapped in, scoring just seconds after coming on.

The match ended 2-2, with neither side able to find a late winner. Frankfurt now face a tough task to close the 10-point gap to the top six, while Koln remains in a precarious position, just two points from the relegation play-off spot.
