Fresh from securing a 35th German top-flight title, Bayern Munich booked a DFB-Pokal final spot with a 2-0 semi-final win over Bayer Leverkusen - their first final appearance since beating Die Werkself in 2020.
It was a key game for Bayern, offering a chance to end their Pokal drought and keep treble hopes alive.
Vincent Kompany’s side started strongly, with Luis Díaz curling an effort that Mark Flekken turned wide.
Leverkusen threatened briefly in response, but Bayern regained control by the 20th minute and soon had the opener.
Michael Olise’s flick down the right sent Jamal Musiala free, and he cut it back for Harry Kane to control and rifle into the roof of the net.
Chasing a second, Bayern stayed on top as Joshua Kimmich and Olise both forced saves from Flekken, before Kane went close to his 53rd goal of the season with a powerful volley that flew just over.
The half closed with tempers flaring, and both sides carried that intensity into the second period as they pushed at either end.
Robert Andrich cleared Díaz’s chipped finish off the line, only for Manuel Neuer to match him moments later with a superb stop from Nathan Tella’s edge-of-the-box drive.
Wary of Leverkusen’s record of scoring at least three in each of their last six home Pokal games, Bayern pressed for a second. Flekken denied Kane what would have been his 16th brace of the season.
Leverkusen sparked to life with 20 minutes left when Patrik Schick met Jarell Quansah’s cross with a header that flew just over, but they struggled to create anything after that.
Instead, Bayern struck on the break in the final seconds. Leon Goretzka slipped Díaz through and he dinked a composed finish over Flekken.

With the league title already wrapped up, Bayern can now focus on the Pokal final against Stuttgart or Freiburg, plus a Champions League semi-final clash with holders Paris Saint-Germain.
Leverkusen remain without a trophy since their domestic double two years ago, and fans will be hoping they don’t endure another wait like their previous 31-year drought.
